STRAP ANSWERS
CHANGE THE CHARACTER WITH CLARITY.
Clear answers that help shoppers choose the right collection, size, fit, and ownership path.
How do I know the correct band size?
Start by selecting your CURTIS & Co. watch model. Each model is designed for a specific lug width, which determines the compatible band size. You can find your lug width in your watch specifications or use our compatibility guide to identify the correct strap for your timepiece.
Can I change the band myself?
Yes. Most CURTIS & Co. straps feature quick-release spring bars that allow you to change straps in seconds without special tools.
To remove the strap, turn the watch over so the back of the case is facing you. Locate the small quick-release lever on the underside of the strap near the lug, gently slide the lever inward toward the center of the strap, and carefully pull the strap away from the watch case while holding the lever. Repeat for the opposite side.
To attach a new strap, insert one end of the quick-release pin into the lug hole on the watch case. Pull the quick-release lever inward, position the strap between the lugs, and release the lever once aligned. Gently tug on the strap to ensure the pin is securely seated, then repeat for the opposite side.
Important: Always check that both ends of the strap are securely attached before wearing your watch. Improper installation may result in the watch falling from your wrist and becoming damaged.
What strap materials are available?
Our collection includes premium leather, crocodile-pattern leather, silicone, stainless steel, and other carefully selected materials designed to complement your watch and lifestyle.
A leather strap offers a classic and refined look, while silicone provides a more casual and active style. Changing straps allows you to adapt your watch to different occasions without changing the watch itself.
Should the buckle color match the watch case?
For the most cohesive look, we recommend choosing a buckle finish that matches your watch case color. For example, a stainless steel case pairs best with a stainless steel buckle, while gold-tone and rose gold-tone cases are often complemented by matching buckle finishes.
That said, personal style always comes first. Many collectors intentionally mix finishes to create a more distinctive and contemporary look.
- Traditional: Match the buckle to the case.
- Modern: Mix finishes for a unique look.
- Best choice: The one that suits your personal style.
